Heads up, Google Workspace users! There’s a price hike coming to all workspace plans. But before you grab your pitchforks, let us explain why this is actually good news.

Google has rolled out a bunch of AI features powered by Gemini to ALL Workspace Business and Enterprise plans between January and March 2025. This means you’ll have access to high-quality AI tools that can increase your productivity in your day-to-day workflows.

But, this upgrade comes with a slight price adjustment.

Think of it like this: you’re getting a major software upgrade with a ton of new features, kind of like getting the latest smartphone with all the bells and whistles. Naturally, that comes with a bit of a higher price tag.

We had a look at our own Google Workspace Business Standard Subscription and it looks like it will only be about a £2 increase per user. Which isn’t bad at all, seeing as before, the Gemini add-on was £20 per user.

• Business Standard: £13.44 per user per month (previously £11.52)
• Business Plus: £21.12 per user per month (previously £17.28)

Annual/Fixed-Term Plans:

• Business Starter: £5.60 per user per month (previously £4.80)
• Business Standard: £11.20 per user per month (previously £9.60)
• Business Plus: £17.60 per user per month (previously £14.40)

• Enterprise Standard: £25.92 per user per month (previously £21.60)
• Enterprise Plus: £33.60 per user per month (previously £28)

Annual/Fixed-Term Plans:

• Enterprise Plus: £28 per user per month (previously £23.34)

• The Gemini App (gemini.google.com) remains.
• The advanced AI features in your Workspace subscription will replace the Gemini add-on.
• Between January and March 2025, Google will gradually introduce these Gemini AI capabilities to current clients.
• All users have the Gemini AI features activated by default.
• Enterprise Tier subscriptions can manage and disable Gemini AI features.
• Business Tier subscriptions must request access to Gemini AI admin controls.

• Gmail: Smart compose, email summarisation, and a handy side panel for drafting, querying, and more.
• Docs: Summarisation, writing assistance, image generation, and a side panel for brainstorming and polishing your work.
• Meet: Automatic note-taking, adaptive audio for clearer meetings, and translated captions for better inclusivity.
• Drive: Summarise multiple documents, get insights, find files faster, and even work with PDFs.
• Sheets: Smart fill, table creation, and data insights in seconds.
• Slides: Image generation, background removal, and a side panel for content creation and editing.
• Chat: Conversation summaries and a side panel to answer your questions and generate action items.
• Plus: Gemini Advanced for complex tasks and NotebookLM Plus for knowledge sharing (coming soon!).

We know you care about your data. Rest assured, Google is committed to keeping your information safe and secure. Your data is not used to train Gemini models without your permission, and you have full control over your AI settings.

Yes, there’s a price increase. But you’re also getting an incredible suite of AI tools that can save you time, boost your productivity, and unleash your creativity. We think it’s a small price to pay for the future of work.
