Most of us will, at some point, have to write a bid, tender, or pitch for something in our business. It could be for a grant, to get funding, or win a project with a prospective client.
But with competition high, how can you stand out from the crowd and write a winning pitch or bid?
At this specially curated panel event, we’ve got people who will bring different perspectives from across the business, charity and public sector landscape to help you do just that. Working in organisations and businesses that have tried and tested methods and advice from both writing and receiving tenders, covering what your business needs to know about how to write winning pitches, bids and grants.
Chaired by Chris Farthing, CEO at Advice Cloud, we’ll be joined by:
- Julian Wood, Procurement Services Manager at University of Brighton
- Richard Freeman, CEO at always possible
- Jo Sutherland, Managing Director at Magenta
- Emily Wright, Business Manager at Let’s Do Business Group
They’ll cover the basics of tendering from how to demonstrate social value in your proposal, the do’s and don’ts, tips and techniques for success. We’ll also hear from organisations use the tendering process to award pitches, grants and funding – including what might make you win or lose a tender. They’ll share their successes and failures, what the challenges are, and what they’ve learnt from them.
We’ll also take a look at new changes to legislation in public sector procurement (like The Procurement Act, commencing in Feb 2025), which aims to simplify processes and increase opportunities for small businesses.
You’re encouraged to submit questions for our panel in advance (you can send the pressing questions you’d like to know about when you book your ticket), and there’ll be plenty of time for a Q&A at the end too. Whether you’re running a small business, working as part of a big team, a charity or social enterprise, you’ll leave fully armed with the knowledge to start bidding successfully.
