Estill Voice Training® Level 1 & 2 Course
by Stefan Holmström, Opera Singer and Estill Voice Teacher
Voice craft for singers, speakers, teachers and speech & language therapists
This complete Estill Voice Training® Level 1 & 2 Course is for anyone who would like to improve their singing or speaking voice, including singers, actors, public speakers, singing teachers, vocal coaches, drama instructors, speech and language therapists and other vocal health professionals. The course offers a clear understanding of the voice's limitless possibilities, along with how to keep it vibrant and healthy.
Your journey to vocal empowerment starts with the self-directed online course Foundations of Estill Voice Training® and continues in-person in Brighton over four days with Figures for Voice™ and Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities™ taught by opera singer and voice teacher Stefan Holmström MFA, EMCI.
Foundations of Estill Voice Training® introduces you to Estill Voice Training®'s unique and powerful system for training the voice. Content includes videos, short readings, anatomical diagrams, exploratory vocal exercises with Estill Voiceprint Plus™ and journal reflections.
Level 1: Figures for Voice™ teaches you the craft of speaking and singing through body awareness, isolated control of your vocal muscles, anatomy, physiology and acoustics. Thirteen specific exercises will give you new vocal options for all styles and genres of singing and speaking.
Level 2: Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities™ combines figure options from Level 1 to produce six voice qualities: Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera and Belt.
During the 4-day live component you will explore each Estill Figure (vocal structure) and Estill Voice Quality (recipe) through lectures and in practice groups.
Places on this particular course are strictly limited to 10 participants, so it's an excellent opportunity for intensive study of the whole curriculum with lots of individual feedback.

Open coaching sessions
Open coaching is an opportunity to apply the craft that we will learn to a song or speech of your choice. The aim is to solve a vocal problem and/or broaden your artistic choices with expert feedback. Up to four open coaching sessions will be offered as part of this Estill Level 1 & 2 Course. Sessions are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Please let us know when you register if you would like one of the open coaching sessions. We will follow-up before the course to confirm your session, ask you what you will be performing and to request you to provide sheet music or script.
How open coaching works
Bring a song or speech (or section of a song or speech) that you would like to work on. As time is limited, please keep it short (i.e. strictly no longer than 3 minutes - preferably shorter).
