Want to share your skills or time with a local charity? BCP can support you
At the Chamber 'Spotlight on Charities' breakfast on 10th December 2010, speakers from the Martlets Hospice, Rockinghorse, The Edward Starr Charitable Trust and The Sussex Beacon inspired us with insights into how charities really work with their challenges and passions.
What was particularly interesting were the comments about the value of time and sharing of expertise as support from businesses and not just the financial input.
If you were motivated to share your skills or time with a local charity, as a Chamber member The Business Community Partnership (BCP), is perfectly placed to support you to do just that.
BCP offers a programme of employee volunteering and skills exchange brokerage and networking opportunities which allow organisations to engage in effective and creative ways. For example; your professional skills could be invaluable to organisations that directly improve the lives of individuals in your community, your team could transform a disused community space into a vibrant space, or you could mentor an individual effected by long term unemployment back into the world of work. Just a few examples of how you could make a difference through The Business Community Partnership.
