UTILISE: Energy, Water & Waste Efficiency Workshop
Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with the City Council and Sustainable Business Partnership to present UTILISE. The one-day workshop helps you decode your utility bills and find areas for savings at your organisation through energy, waste and water management.
UTILISE is free to attend for SMEs thanks to European funding through the Low Carbon Essentials programme.
The workshop will be held in Brighton on the 15th May 2012, from 9:30am to 4:30pm. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
Topics
With presentations from Resource Efficiency Experts and interactive exercises UTILISE explores:
• Utility billing and tariffs; electricity, gas, water and waste
• Benchmarking and carbon footprinting
• Environmental legislation
• Staff and customer involvement
• Technologies and gadgets
• Green marketing
• Grant and funding opportunities
• Environmental Management Systems
Each delegate will create an action plan for cost saving initiatives at their premises, as well as receive a UTILISE Work Pack containing further information and guidance, to build on the knowledge and skills learnt on the day.
Who Should Attend
UTILISE is designed for businesses with premises and commercial utility bills. Past delegates include manufacturers, hoteliers, community centres, office based businesses, retailers, educational institutes, restaurateurs, garden centres… the list goes on. It's a great chance to meet and share ideas and experiences with organisations that you would not regularly meet at your industry's trade fair.
