By Ophelia Stevenson of Ingenio Technologies
Productivity and concentration can be difficult when working from home. You’d think by now we’d all have adapted to work efficiently in this environment, but sometimes it’s not always that simple.
Luckily, there are some small things that you can do to check in and make your working day easier. As an IT Support company in Brighton, we’ve found these Tech Tips will really help while working from home.
Maintain a work life balance
Keeping work and home life separate can be difficult, but if you stick to your working hours and make sure to take regular breaks, you'll maintain a healthy balance.
Using an app like Clockify can help you to track and manage your time efficiently, and make sure you don't keep working overtime.
Stay focused
To keep up your concentration and motivation, you'll need to take screen breaks.
We know this can be difficult, especially when deadlines are approaching, but this will really impact your wellbeing in a positive way and affect the way you work.
You could take a walk, step outside for five minutes, or even do some yoga.
Sitting down all day is not healthy and can cause irritation to your back. Downloading an app such as Pocket Yoga will enable you to pause, have a stretch and feel refreshed to continue your day.
Have the best internet connection
Almost everything you need to work is accessible via the internet.
Depending on how many members of your household are home during lockdown, your internet will be pushed to the limits – which will heavily impact the quality of your connection!
But, we’ve got some advice for you to have the best possible connection.
Test your connection
The first thing you should do is test the quality of your connection. You can do a Broadband test via Speedtest here.
You should have above 25 Mbps for good internet speed - this supports streaming, web browsing, online gaming etc. Depending on how many people are using your internet will impact this.
4G Broadband
At Ingenio, we provide 4G broadband, which is available wherever you are working - from home, site cabins, temporary locations, countryside or rural locations. So, you can get fast internet, no matter where you are. Discover more about this here.
Keep your business safe and secure
Cyber Crime has risen by 37% since the pandemic started, with small businesses being the easiest targets for hackers.
60% of small businesses that are victims of a cyber-attack go out of business within six months.
So, it’s important to put everything you can in place to prevent an attack.
We have a free guide which will help you start to build cyber security awareness into your business culture, so you and your employees can understand potential cyber security threats to your business.
Download a copy of the guide here.
Working from home isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so make sure you have the most comfortable experience by following these tips!
