Support for your business with fully funded undergraduate internships.
Brighton Chamber is working with The University of Sussex to find businesses that would benefit from financial support to employ a Sussex student this summer.
This new undergraduate internship scheme is fully funded. You could receive £3000 of funding to offer a First-Generation Scholar a 10 week internship opportunity.
First-Generation Scholars are current undergraduate students at the University of Sussex who are either the first in their family to go to University, or have a family income of less than £42,611 per annum.
If you are interested in receiving £3000 funding to support a 10 week internship opportunity, please express your interest here. Internships should start in week commencing 16 June 2014 and last for 10 weeks.
Please note:
• Applicants will be second year undergraduates, returning to the University of Sussex in September 2014.
• We ask you to conduct your usual recruitment process; the University will not be matching candidates to your opportunity.
Internship providers should pay interns a minimum of £7.65 per hour (the UK Living Wage, organisations based in London are encouraged to top this up to £8.80 per hour). Interns will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week for 10 weeks.
For more information about the scheme or to apply visit http://www.sussex.ac.uk/careers/aboutus/firstgeneration/internships
Expression of interests, in the form of a submitted vacancy, must be received via our online form, by 31 March 2014.
Once your opportunity is confirmed it will be advertised to current 2nd year First-Generation Scholars. Interested candidates will be asked to apply to you directly and we ask that you follow your usual recruitment selection process.
Organisations accepted for fully funded support must agree to complete recruitment and selection processes by 16 May 2014.
