Support for your business with fully funded undergraduate internships
Brighton Chamber is working with the University of Sussex to find businesses that would benefit from financial support to employ a Sussex student this summer.
This undergraduate internship scheme is fully funded. You could receive £3100 of funding to offer a First-Generation Scholar a 10 week internship opportunity.
Now in its second year, the University of Sussex First-Generation Scholars’ Summer Internship Programme is designed to offer relevant and meaningful work experience to students, and additional support with projects or tasks to employers.
Please note that expression of interests, in the form of a submitted vacancy, will be advertised from 1st March 2015.
Organisations accepted for fully funded support must complete the recruitment and selection processes so that the internship can start during June 2015.
Interns should receive a minimum of £7.85 per hour (the UK Living Wage, visit the Brighton & Hove Living Wage website for more info) and will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week for 10 weeks.
First-Generation Scholars are current undergraduate students at the University of Sussex who are either the first in their family to go to University, or have a family income of less than £42,620 per annum.
For more information about the scheme or to apply - submit your proposed job (project) role here: www.sussex.ac.uk/careers/aboutus/employers/findoutmore.
Once your opportunity is confirmed it will be advertised and interested candidates will be asked to apply directly, so that you can carry out your usual recruitment process.
