Ride the Wave: Marketing to the Clients You Want

After a hugely successful event last year, our Ride the Wave workshop on ‘Marketing to the Clients You Want’ will be available again for a re-run on Tuesday, 25 June.

Brighton Chamber is delivering this popular session for people in creative industries as part of the Ride the Wave business support programme funded by Brighton and Hove City Council.

Led by marketing consultant Adrian Swinscoe, who says attendees can look forward to “an interactive, engaging couple of hours”, the workshop will provide sound practical advice, helpful examples, and a wealth of ideas with which to start developing or enhance your own marketing plans.

You will be able to discover the trade secrets behind the best marketing plans, which are built on the solid foundations of ‘the three Ms’: Market, Message and Medium. What is your market? What is it that you want to say? What channel should you use to say it?

‘Marketing to the Clients You Want’ represents one of Ride the Wave’s target areas of supporting Brighton’s creative industries. But shouldn’t creative people be naturals when it comes to marketing? Not necessarily. According to Adrian, although a lot of those working in creative industries do marketing for other people, they may not always do the same for themselves.

When it comes to harnessing the vast marketing powers of the web, Adrian says: “It’s making marketing more complex. It’s making it quite time consuming.” However, he adds thatat the same time the internet is making marketing “possibly more cost effective” and is also “allowing people to expand their reach.”
