Ride the wave - Free events to support businesses in Brighton
A NEW business support initiative Ride the Wave has been launched to support small to medium sized organisations based in the City. The Council in partnership with Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce are putting on 10 free events across the City between November 2010 - March 2011 that will offer targeted and practical business support for a number of different industries and sectors. The programme is unique in the fact that it is rare to access such high quality events for FREE.
The events and workshops aim to help businesses improve their performance and support them through these economic times. Attendees will gain insider access to information and guidance from industry leading experts. Plus develop business skills, take away tips, share knowledge and meet other local businesses developing the potential for collaborative working.
Ride the Wave is funded by the Council and delivered by Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce, a not-for-profit organisation that represents the needs and interests of the local business community.
Chamber Director Sarah Springford said, ‘We are delighted to be working with the Council to deliver the Ride the Wave series of events. The Chamber members are from all sizes of company and business sector and will be sure to find something on offer that suits them. The events are designed to help to keep our local economy thriving, which is good for all of us, whether you are a business person, a resident or both!
The events will help companies do more business with the public and private sector, as well as provide support for the creative and lifestyle industries, retail and hospitality sectors.
Ride the Wave follows on from last year’s award winningly successful Business Lifebelt initiative which supported over 1400 local businesses.
The project will use many local suppliers and partner with many business support organisations. To find out more about the Ride the Wave events please email ridethewave@businessinbrighton.org.uk or call Jennie at the Chamber offices on 01273 719097.
