The personality behind a bottle of wine
Many, many years ago I had an opportunity to work for one of France’s renowned wine makers.
Up until that point I never really thought about the people that actually made the wine – it’s made from grapes surely! - and my time with Jean-Marie inspired my journey into wine and where I am today in this business.
Wine makers at this level are not especially interested in wine-labels - their name, their reputation means everything to them – the soil, the history, their vineyard, their skill and passion all translate into the wine that you pour into your glass. It’s their name in your glass. This personality behind the bottle is what is so often overlooked and is the ethos behind Elwood - to be the bridge between the winemaker and your table.
The gift of turning soil composed of raw organic material into extraordinary wines is driven by a love of their craft and is inspirational in itself.
As your personal wine shopper we hope to inspire your wine journey.
