New Digital Media HR Group
Wired Sussex, the digital support organisation, is backing a new digital
media HR group set up by Martin Searle Solicitors, Relentless Software and
Madgex.
The group will meet monthly for up-to-the-minute employment law training and
to share best practice and polices which have most impact on the digital
media sector. Wired Sussex will promote the group to its membership of more
than 1,400 digital companies and use its relationships to help resource and
grow the network.
Phil Jones, MD of Wired Sussex, said: "It is a testament to the growing
strength and maturity of the digital media sector in Sussex that this
network has been formed. Wired Sussex is very happy to be part of it. We
will work with our membership to ensure the HR group becomes a useful forum
for members to discuss the HR issues relevant to them. We encourage those in
HR in the digital sector to get involved."
The first event will be at Madgex's North Street offices on Thursday 28
January 2010 (8.30am-10.00am). The subject will be appraisals and Fiona
Martin will talk about the role of the appraisal in performance management.
She will also give insights into recent performance dismissal cases in the
Employment Tribunal.

Future meetings will cover topical and relevant HR and employment law issues
including, Compromise Agreements, Additional Paternity Leave from 2011, the
