New careers fair to launch - Brighton Your Futures
TheBrighton Your Futuresinitiative will be launching on the 12th March at the Corn Exchange in Brighton with a careers fair aimed at 16-25 year olds. The objective is to bring together young people who are bursting with raw potential but not in work, training or education with local businesses. Not only will they be offering opportunities on the day to these young people but in doing so will be ensuring that Brighton stays on the cutting edge of industry.
Exhibitors and sponsors will have the opportunity to expose their organisation to many local and national decision-makers, network with like-minded businesses, and save money in the recruitment process with on-the-spot interviews of local talent.
Businesses will be encouraged to exercise some corporate social responsibility on the day by helping a young person onto the ladder by signing them up to an Action to Work initiative. These can range from anything from a taster session, mentor request or work experience right through to an internship or the chance of an apprenticeship.
After the event there will be consultation with employers to create recruitment opportunities in the long-term. The Brighton Your Futures initiative is intended to create long-term social value by empowering business and local communities to evolve together successfully.
Brighton Your Futures is an event that participants – the Council, Social Enterprises, local businesses and educators are arranging to be designed and delivered by the people it is for.
