Navigating your way to business success
Crossing uncharted waters while heading for a far flung destination can be hazardous and fraught with difficulty – this is why any sailors embarking on such a journey need a good navigator by their side to show them the way.
And it is much the same for anyone starting up or growing their own business. They need a strong hand at the tiller to point them in the right direction and make their enterprise a success.
Businesses in Brighton now have access to a team of Business Support Navigator’s to get the help and guidance they need as they negotiate the choppy waters of setting up, running and growing their own business.
The Business Navigator service has been running now for just over 13 months and has proved to be a great success. After the initial pilot programme, the service has grown and now occupies offices in Shoreham by Sea managed by Prevista Ltd. There is a dedicated team of 5 navigators who can help you explore your businesses ambitions to achieve high growth and help you enter the next stage of your business.
“We are looking to help businesses find out what they actually need to grow,” said Neil Seccombe, Manager of the Business Navigator service. “Many people are daunted by everything they have to do to set up and run their company, from tax and administration to employment and marketing.
“What we aim to do is take a lot of the hassle and effort away from them so they can concentrate on the most important aspect of their business which is selling their products and services.”
Funded through the Department for Business Innovation & Skills, the Business Navigator Growth Hub service was put in place over 1 year ago by Coast to Capital, a Local Enterprise Partnership which aims to promote economic growth and help businesses grow and is delivered by Prevista Ltd who’s ethos is to support every business, learner, young person, entrepreneur and delivery partner to achieve their maximum potential and ensure that success is sustainable.
The Business Support Navigator service is free to use and is delivered locally with offices in Shoreham by Sea and consists of 3 telephone based Business Navigators and 2 Senior Business Navigators. Between them they have experience in all aspects of business including business support, administration, management, human resources and funding.
The team provide signposting support to businesses based in the Coast to Capital area from Brighton across to Chichester and up as far as Croydon in the North.
Andy Brett of Liminal Consulting in Brighton was one of the 3,500 businesses and entrepreneurs that have used the service; “The Business Navigator service has been a great help in connecting me with support and advice in getting my start-up off the ground. I’m certain that I will feel the positive effect of the support for some time to come.”
The Business Navigator service is sponsoring the breakfast at the Brighton Summit. To get in touch with them, ring 01403 333840 or visit the web portal www.c2cbusiness.org.uk.
