Mindsets and behaviours behind successful entrepreneurs
Keynote speaker, Brighton Summit, Friday 16 October
Jim Duffy will talk about the mindsets and behaviours behind successful entrepreneurship – asking the question: What stops so many people from living their dreams? A firm believer that everyone has it in them to be a success given the right situation and support, Jim will explore the barriers in the human psyche that stop, inhibit or block entrepreneurship and how we can overcome these. They include our own inner critic, our fear of failure, uncertainty, lack of confidence and of course, what we were taught at school.
Jim, a former policeman and entrepreneur, set up Entrepreneurial Spark in 2011 to promote business start-ups and help them grow, and his own social enterprise has led by example. Building on the success of the Scottish Hatcheries, which supported more than 350 fledgling firms in its first three years, Entrepreneurial Spark has launched a wave of expansion into the rest of the UK and India, becoming the world’s largest free business accelerator in the process.
