Midnight Communications Comes of Age
The South East’s Leading PR agency Celebrates Eighteen Years.
Midnight Communications, one of the south east’s longest established PR agencies, this month celebrates eighteen years in the business.**
When the company was first launched back in 1995, it became the first agency to specialise in the internet. It was funded by a £2k overdraft and a belief that the internet would grow and flourish.
Midnight has been twice named as the fastest growing PR company in the UK and was sold to an advertising agency in 2001 only to be bought back again in 2003. In the year 2000 it won the double accolade of national PR company of the year and Sussex Company of the year. It has since gone on to win over fifty awards on behalf of its clients for exciting and innovative PR work.
Over the years Midnight has employed and trained around two hundred people and been the parent of ten or more spin off agencies. Two of its alumnae hold positions as MDs of top ten London PR firms and for eight years in a row a member of the team has been either a finalist or winner of the Young Communicator of the Year award.
Founder Caraline Brown has featured in many business titles including Management Today and the Sunday Times and was a Media Boss of the Year finalist for two years running. She has three times been named one of the most influential people in PR in the PR Week’s annual guide.
Commenting on its eighteen years, managing director and founder Caraline Brown said: “We have survived the recession (I hope!) and last year won twelve awards for our work – including silver for outstanding PR consultancy in the south east. We continue to deliver quality results on behalf of a broad national client base which includes PR and social media, events and awards management.”
Frances Ingham, CEO of the Public Relations Consultants Associations commented: “Wow what an achievement!
“We are always delighted to hear great news from our members. In an environment where we are far more likely to hear stories of failure it is really heartening to learn that an agency as innovative as Midnight has reached grand age of 18.
“Long may it continue”
Midnight has been proud to launch or promote many of the region’s most successful businesses – for example, Wired Sussex, the MDHub, the Duke of Yorks one hundredth celebrations, the Brighton and Hove Business Awards and many more.
The company currently handles a portfolio of regional, as well as national, clients which includes Thomas Eggar, Sky Sports Living for Sport, Checkatrade and Aria Assistance.
Midnight is also responsible for the Sussex Business Awards and the Brighton and Hove Business Awards.
**A fantastic achievement when the average life span of a PR company is between 5-7 years.
