July 4th - Save the date!
Sarah Foster is the Events Manager at the Brighton Chamber; here she gives you a little bit of insight into what’s in store for the coming months, including some treats exclusively for members.
As you know, the Brighton Chamber organises inspiring, fun, business relevant events for businesses in Sussex; we try and steer away from the traditional, serious image that the Chamber name sometimes implies, and keep at the forefront of activity that our members are involved with. We have lots of great opportunities in the pipeline for 2014; Bite-sized learning events, networking breakfasts, the Big Debate, Behind the Scenes and sessions offering mentoring and business advice.
We recently held a hugely successful ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour of the Royal Pavilion, this was an event exclusively for Chamber members and we are delighted to announce that we about to confirm three more - a tour of the Theatre Royal, the Brighton Sewers and Glyndebourne Opera House, to complete the series. If you’re not yet a member, you’d better join if you’d like to come!
Our Bite-sized learning sessions are really useful training sessions that offer practical and relevant business training from Chamber members in 2 hour bite-sized chunks, designed not to take up your whole day. We have some great workshops coming up including Pricing right; LinkedIn, Visualising your way to success and SEO, to name a few.
Our upcoming Debate – Is social media a waste of time for business? This is going to be a lively one; we hold these panel discussions regularly, with over 150 delegates – we’re always looking for great ideas for topics from our members, so if you have a burning issue you think we should be debating, let us know!
Our inspirational Breakfasts at Carluccio’s are our flagship networking events. These are dynamic, vibrant events and a great way to start the day. Recent speakers have included Gus Christie from Glyndebourne, and Martyn Evans from The Cathedral Group, and we have upcoming Breakfasts with Robert Schifreen (the first man in the world even to be accused of computer hacking), Richard Mehmed from the Wood Recycling Project, and an interview by Miranda Birch demonstrating the importance of storytelling to your business.
The most exciting project we are putting on this year is still a secret... We will be launching it shortly so keep an eye out for the most essential business event of the summer – July 4th you won’t want to miss it!
If you would like to come along to any of these, or find out about all the events we are running this year – do get in touch, we’d love to hear from you. You can call me on 01273 719097, email admin@businessinbrighton.org.uk or book on our website at www.businesinbrighton.org.uk/events.
