Join the Big Alcohol Debate!
The Big Alcohol Debate takes place in Brighton & Hove over the next 3 months. Hosted by the Brighton & Hove Alcohol Programme Board the debate hopes to hold a conversation with local people to gauge their attitudes to alcohol in the city and find solutions to some of the problems it generates.
The debate started with a 24hr twitterthon earlier this month, with the aim to get as many people involved as possible. You can join in the Twitter debate using the hash tag #bhdrink and by visiting their profile: www.twitter.com/bhdrink
You can also share your views by filling out their online survey by clicking here. They will be collecting responses to the survey until the New Year.
The survey includes a number of questions, but two are key to the debate:
- Imagine that you are in charge of Brighton & Hove, responsible for the City Council, the NHS, the Police and the rules that pubs, off licences and other businesses have to follow. What would you do about alcohol?
- Imagine now that you have made those changes. What effect do you think this would have on people’s attitudes towards drinking alcohol and their drinking behaviour? What would Brighton & Hove be like?
