Invite to an exclusive preview at Brighton Museum
Monday 24 September 5.30 - 7.00
With its cutting edge yet affordable fashion, Barbara Hulanicki’s iconic Biba store and label transformed the High Street shopping experience in the 1960s and 70s. Its rich and bohemian Art Nouveau decadence styled the minds and wardrobes of a generation in extraordinary clothes and make-up at great prices.
This major fashion exhibition at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery celebrates the Biba lifestyle and also looks beyond Biba at Barbara Hulanicki’s later career, both as a fashion designer and as one of the most respected interior designers in the US.
Exclusive tour of the exhibition with Martin Pel, Curator of Costume and Textiles (6pm)
