An interview with Plus Accounting
Plus Accounting are sponsoring Adventures in risk taking, for high growth businesses. Paul Feist, MD, shares his own experiences with risk taking, and how to safeguard against uncertainty.
Do you believe it’s better for businesses to take risks or to play it safe?
Accountants are known for being risk adverse and the reason for that is because too often, clients do not fully evaluate a situation and therefore expose themselves to unnecessary risk. On the whole, a calculated risk is the answer!
Can you give us an example of a time you took a risk with Plus Accounting?
We did take a certain risk in completely changing our name and branding after 20 years of successful trading as Feist Hedgethorne.
How does Plus Accounting help businesses turn risks into opportunities?
We help clients turn risks into opportunities by encouraging them to plan properly and assess any situation in detail.
What are you most looking forward to hearing about at the event?
I am most looking forward to hearing how business owners learn to delegate decision making and control for the betterment of their business.
What advice would you give to someone running a growing business?
The best advice that I can give to a growing business is to invest properly in the financial systems and controls because I have seen too many businesses that have failed to understand when things are going wrong and by the time they do, it is too late.
Thanks to Plus Accounting for writing this blog.
Our next High Growth Entrepreneur event is all about taking risks. Our panel of experts have been there and still wear the t-shirts. They will share their experiences, how they've tackled risks head-on and whether their decisions were the right ones at the time. There'll be a chance for a Q&A and networking. Wine and light refreshments will be provided.
