How to be a Digital Nomad
Conversation session, Brighton Summit, Friday 16 October
Imagine being able to work from anywhere in the world…
Discussing what types of people can work as Digital Nomads and how they work, Joanne Munro and Tim Marrow will talk about their experience of doing just that.
They will review what tools they need to work remotely, how they communicate with clients across time zones, what type of people hire them and whether clients care if they're not local.
With a number of online businesses Joanne Munro is a jobbing Virtual Assistant and CV Writer who also provides training, digital downloads and resources so people can set up and run their own successful freelance business.
With a 100% location-independent business model, as long as she has a good Internet connection she can (and has) worked from anywhere in the world
Will you get a taste for the life of a Digital Nomad? Tim’s lifestyle is certainly appealing…
"I have been travelling to Thailand and other parts of Asia during the winter time on and off for the last 10 years. I mostly travel via Dubai where I stop for a few days. I have travelled to Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma)..."
"I avoid bad weather in the winter and I can go kiteboarding with my buddies. And it cuts living expenses to 1/3 of the UK."
Tim Marrow is the Director of 4ward Loop, a professional web design and development business based in Brighton. With years of experience as a product design engineer, Tim set up 4ward Loop Design in 2005. 4ward Loop specialise in web design for business growth using online marketing and search engine optimisation.
In the Q&A session that follows you will be able explore further the possibilities of being a Digital Nomad.
The session will be facilitated by business coach Julia Chanteray of The Joy of Business. Over the last fourteen years, she has helped grow and develop hundreds of businesses in Brighton, Sussex and London.
