Hear from SeeThat - by Tim Jarvis
Starting a company in the depth of a recession would not usually be recommended to a 23-year-old, who was only in their first full-time job, but seeing an opportunity and having the desire to make it work, I decided to give up my job at Sussex County Cricket Club in April 2010 and go for it.
The journey so far has been incredible. There have been difficult moments; I’m not going to lie. And I’ve learnt some massive lessons, but the downs have completely been outweighed by the highs.
I’m sitting here now on a Friday afternoon and I can see seven other people enjoying their work, passionate about creating video and excited by the future at SeeThat. This is what I wanted to create, but we aren’t done yet.
In the last year, we’ve worked with some amazing organisations and on some incredible projects. We’ve travelled the globe and have visits to Israel, America and a tour of Europe on the horizon next year.
We’ve worked with global brands on projects ranging from Hewlett Packard, Walking With Dinosaurs and Alton Towers to name a few.
There is an incredibly exciting future ahead of us. I’m very fortunate enough to have a fantastic team around me. The foundations have been laid. And it all started by seeing an opportunity and going for it.
I guess that’s the point of this blog. Hopefully, my few words can inspire some entrepreneurs out there to just go for it. What have you got to lose?
The motto that I have lived with and think about almost every day comes from Walt Disney: “All you dreams will come true, if you have the courage to pursue them.” And I’m still dreaming.
Below is an example of one of our recent video's for the charity "Friends of The Elderly". It's part of a high profile national campaign that was shot in and around Brighton and it's a really nice way to finish what has been a fantastic year. To see the video click here.
