Grow your business – make the most of the media
Half-day workshop on how to raise your profile, making the most of media opportunities thrown up by your work, background and expertise.
Special offer for BHCC members - £65. (Normal price for workshop - £90)
The workshop will help you to:
• Understand how journalists work and what makes ‘news’ or a ‘feature’.
• Spot a ‘story’ in your business, background or expertise.
• Find a ‘hook’ and a ‘peg’: why should journalists write about you – and why now?
• Get the timing right: when to tell the media you have a ‘story’ and meeting deadlines.
• Decide what to put in a press release: headlines, quotes, case studies, facts etc.
• Write some copy: make a start on your own press release or feature for your website.
• Prepare for an interview: conquer those nerves and be memorable for the right reasons.
• Do a quick interview: tell your story in a hundred seconds…and then ten!
The course also includes:
• Tips sheets on how to generate ideas, write copy and prepare for an interview.
• A sandwich lunch.
