Green Technology arrives in Brighton
Green technology will be arriving in Brighton in June for the second Eco Technology Show.
The two day event at the Brighton Centre will be filled with a huge range of activities, conferences and experts for anyone interested in green technologies, transport, design and environmental debates and topics.
The show will hold 130 exhibitors as well as 50 free workshops and talks covering smarter transport, energy efficiency, retrofits and more. The new technology and innovation area will show the latest technologies and how they can provide real savings.
Last year’s show was the first Eco Technology Show and was a huge success, with over 4,000 visitors at the AMEX stadium and around 115 exhibitors. Damian Tow, one of four directors who has been organising the second show for the last year. “We’ve changed to a bigger venue, which is the Brighton Centre on the sea front. We have more exhibitors and aiming this year for around 7,000 visitors. We’re basically expanding.”
The team behind the show is made up of two full time and two part time directors and an advisory board made up of business executives, Council officers, communication advisors, and green businesses. They have worked hard to find a great variety of speakers, workshops and exhibitors that will interest all visitors.
New to the show will be the Advisory Hub, where visitors can set up a meeting with experts to learn more about the savings they could be making, more seminars and workshops discussing energy efficiency, the Green Deal and lots more.
Three seminar areas will hold inspiring talks from leading speakers in the industry as part of the free talks and workshops. Included in the programme are interesting case studies ranging from smart city systems, the city of Peterborough as an environmental city, the One Planet City initiative that Brighton and Hove are working towards and debates about innovation and sustainable growth.
Editor-in-chief of the Resurgence and Ecologist magazine, Satish Kumar will be discussing green and sustainable technology and the Sustainable Business Network will give a workshop explaining how businesses can save money through improving energy and environmental efficiency.
The exhibitors will form zones of transport, office, technology, home, eco build, design and renewable energy. Exhibitors pay £200 per square meter with a huge range of visitors attending.
The show is over two days on Friday June 14th and Saturday June 15th, from 9am until 5pm on Friday and 10am until 5pm on Saturday.
Tickets normally cost £5.00 for adults and children under 16 will have free admission, however with discount code ‘BHCC123’ Chamber of Commerce members can register for free at www.ecotechnologyshow.co.uk
