Free health checks in the workplace for staff in Brighton & Hove
A team of NHS Community Health Nurses are working with Brighton & Hove Council and Brighton & Hove NHS offering Free Health Checks in the Workplace for staff in the City.
They’re offering a programme of screening for undiagnosed heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and people at risk of stroke.
They are particularly interested in targeting men over 40 years as this is the group of people who are at highest risk of developing heart disease, however, the checks are now offered to women over 40 also.
Available health checks are:
- Cholesterol (via a finger prick test)
- Blood pressure
- Weight and height
- Body Mass Index
- Cardiovascular lifestyle assessment including advice on smoking, alcohol, diet and related topics
The checks are confidential, approx 30 minutes in duration and will be free of charge.
A minimum of 4 people is needed for consultations in the workplace and nurses are able see a maximum of 7 people in a day. Subsequent dates may be arranged if demand for the Health Checks is sufficient.
People who are interested in the checks MUST BE registered with a GP in Brighton & Hove and not currently being seen by their GP for cardiovascular disease.
Information leaflets and a blank booking form are attached below.
