Flying the Flag for Prezi

If you run a business and have never heard of Prezi, you could be about to change the way you present to colleagues and clients.
Come and learn how to use Prezi at the Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce bite-sized session on 19th February, with guest speaker Guy Wimpory.
The software rivalling PowerPoint, and now in the top 50 websites in Time Magazine, aims to help people share ideas, inspire creative thinking and ignite meaningful discussion.
Guy runs his own business, Sponsor Monster, Brighton’s only national and local sponsorship consultants who are on a mission to connect Sussex. He now flies the flag for Prezi, after finding success with its features for his own business.
He said: “In the session, I will focus on the technical basics that will allow everyone to create a Prezi. It is important to come to get some training as you can easily go wrong without the right direction and message in mind.”
If the presentation tool is used correctly it can transport a random thought into the chance of telling the story of a lifetime, with its ability to capture content.
Guy believes that Prezi engages people with its dynamic and visual qualities, allowing you to zoom in and out of content.
He says: “The proof is in the pudding, and I got through to people that have previously ignored me by using Prezi, their response led to huge sponsorship.”
Prezi can help your business by illustrating and highlighting your selling points and presenting facts in an understandable way. It uses seamless formatting and segmented design to increase the likelihood of engaging people with the information you are trying to convey.
One business user who currently uses Prezi said: “It allows us to communicate design ideas with our clients in a highly engaging and dynamic way, liberating interesting conversations from the boredom of one- way presentations.”
Prezi is more frequently used for internal meetings; Guy sees a lack of use in sales and marketing industries and feels they would reap the benefits from using the package.
He said: “As we move forward I can see Prezi being embedded into websites with integrated video.
“I would only use PowerPoint now if I needed to convert the slides into PDF format. However we must learn to strike a balance of using Prezi’s features and making sure the information provided is still clear.”
