Eco Technology Show Friday 15th - Saturday 16th of June 2012
The Eco Technology Showwill showcase new technologies and highlight ways in which the public and business can achieve a more efficient and sustainable existence.
The green economy has grown from strength to strength over the past few years. Climate change has become a major political issue and the British government is focusing on reducing carbon emissions and incentivising both industry and the consumer into reducing their carbon footprint, with measures such as the introduction of the Feed-In Tariff and the Renewable Heating Incentive.
The timing of the event is ideal with the introduction of the Green Deal towards the end of 2012 which provides an opportunity for business to assist in upgrading building efficiency for over 18 million properties in the UK. The government has also promoted other environmental initiatives, such as the Green Infrastructure Partnership.
Brighton & Hove is the ideal launch location of the Eco Technology Show. Brighton has a significant focus on green issues with Brighton & Hove Council now being run by the Green Party. Brighton is becoming a hub for eco innovation and has some of the most ecologically aware residents in the UK.
In spite of the great interest in green issues in this city, the uptake of eco technology hasn’t been as fast as it could be, and one of the reasons for this is lack of information on the part of business and consumers. The Eco Technology Show is the perfect chance for business and consumers to learn what they need to make informed choices and buy the products best suited to their needs.
