Come and work at Sussex Community Foundation!
Sussex Community Foundation aims to inspire local giving to meet local needs. The charity raises funds from local people and gives grants to charities and community groups, especially smaller grassroots groups. Since 2006 the Foundation has awarded over £4 million in grants. They are now recruiting to two new roles:
Communications Manager £27,000 pa
35 hours per week Lewes, with travel across Sussex
You’ll play a key role in helping them become leaders in local philanthropy: building and delivering a comprehensive communications strategy to engage and inspire existing and potential donors and volunteers. You’ll also act as project manager for promoting localgiving.com in Sussex, as well as helping to create a coherent corporate identity for their work and managing relationships with the local media.
Experience of using a wide range of communications channels, including social media, is essential, along with an in-depth understanding of how marketing and communications strategies can be used to target high net worth individuals. Strong project management skills are essential, and you must have access to your own motor transport.
Normal working hours are 9 am to 5 pm with flexibility to include regular evening and weekend working, for which time off in lieu will be granted.

Localgiving.com Project Worker £21,000 pa pro rata
21 hours per week, Lewes, with travel across Sussex
Post Funded until 31 March 2013
You’ll work closely with the Communications Manager to deliver their localgiving.com project in Sussex, including helping local charities to raise funds online through a range of marketing techniques. You’ll also organise group and individual training sessions for the charities they support, and contribute to the administration of the Foundation’s grant programmes.
An excellent communicator with an understanding of how the web can be used for marketing social causes, you must also be highly organised, with the energy and enthusiasm to launch a new programme and engage with local grassroots organisations.
