A Christmas campaign case study
For some businesses the run-up to Christmas is a period of winding down. For others, especially retailers, it is the busiest time of the year. Either way, your business can take advantage of the season to launch a campaign that will boost your business. In this blog, we hear from Laura Evans, Marketing Manager of Create.net, about a live case study on their Christmas campaign launching next week.
For Create.net the Christmas period is one of our busiest times of year. Many of the 10,000+ customers who use our build your own website platform are retailers and when they are busy, so are we! Recent research from Paypal shows that 90% of UK shoppers will be buying online this Christmas; I'm only surprised that this number isn't higher.
However, even if Christmas was a quiet period, it can still be the ideal time to launch a seasonal marketing campaign aiming to increase brand awareness and sales. We will be launching our Christmas campaign on Monday. With much of our customer base being active over this period and already interacting with our brand on a daily basis, we hope that this means they will be more likely to take part in the campaign and to share it with others. As well as reaching a new audience of potential customers this campaign is also an opportunity for us to give something back to our loyal customer base by offering them freebies and discounts.
So what are we offering with the campaign? Every weekday between Monday 2nd December and Tuesday 17th December visitors to the Create's 12 Days of Christmas landing page can:
- Claim a free gift from Create.net that is designed to help your business (whether you are currently a Create.net customer or not), such as website graphics, Ebooks and other freebies. The range of gifts are designed to appeal to established ecommerce sellers and businesses, as well as start-ups or those looking to start their business very soon.
- Collect a discount code to use on one of our customer’s websites. We will be profiling the businesses andhave agreed a 1-day discount that can be collected on the landing page. This is a great opportunity to promote some of the businesses we work with but it should also appeal to a wide range of users visiting our landing page, whether or not they are ready to set up a website at this point. Offers end at midnight though!
- Enter the Create's 12 Days of Christmas Competition to win a hamper full of goodies. Open to everyone, visitors will be able to enter the competition via a form on the landing page. The grand prize, awarded on the 12th day, is a wonderful hamper full of goodies from the featured businesses, plus 1 year's subscription to a Create.net Pro Seller account, worth just under £100. The competition can be entered once every day, giving an extra incentive to revisit the page and improve your chance of winning.
This is a live case study and I will be updating you on the results of the campaign on the BHCC blog. I will tell you what worked and what didn't, which I hope will make a useful case study that may inform your own campaigning. In the meantime, get along to the Create.net website on Monday and claim your free gift, discount and enter the competition – trust me, there are going to be some fabulous goodies!
Please do support another BHCC business and help us to share the campaign by sharing the landing page link on social media: http://www.create.net/12days
