Chamber seeks Campaigns Manager for the Living Wage
The Living Wage Campaign in Brighton and Hove is about to start and will run over two years. The campaign follows on from the Council’s Commission on the Living Wage and the purpose of the campaign is to implement the final report of the commission and to make Brighton and Hove a great example of how the living wage can become the normal minimum level of payment for all employees in the city. The campaign is business led, and the Chamber will take the lead in promoting it in the city. We will currently advertising for the role of part time Campaigns Manager.
Julia Chanteray, President of the Chamber of Commerce said, "There's been lots of discussion recently about the brand of Brighton and Hove, and our business community in particular. The fact that the Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce is leading the campaign to make a voluntary Living Wage of £7.20 per hour a reality in the city, with the full support of our hundreds of business members, shows just how forward thinking our business community is. I'm very proud to be a part of this."

£23500 pa pro rata for 21 hours per week (flexible)
This is an exciting new and challenging role to create campaigns for the Chamber and to plan, implement and manage the ‘Living Wage’ campaign in Brighton and Hove. The campaign is business led, and Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce will take the lead in promoting it in the city. The purpose of the campaign is to make Brighton and Hove a great example of how the Living Wage can become the normal minimum level of payment for all employees in the city.
We are looking for a commercially driven, highly motivated and confident individual and who can, through education and support, demonstrate to our local businesses the benefits of signing up to the ‘living wage’. Well developed marketing, sales and negotiating skills are essential. Proven results of using all aspects of marketing for raising awareness and a good knowledge of on-line communication is important to oversee the design of the campaign website.
An understanding of the role of the Chamber and the issues facing businesses is something we will be looking for in the candidate in order that they can promote and introduce the Chamber’s services to existing and potential member businesses.
