The Chamber Rooms – the latest co-working space in Brighton & Hove is now open for business
The Chamber Rooms at 115a Church Road, Hove, is a new co-working space officially opened this month and available exclusively to Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce members.
Offering a quiet and productive environment, local business people can connect with others to discuss thoughts or ideas and collaborate on projects, or equally use it as a base from which to work and think differently for as little as one or two days a month, for much less than the cost of other facilities.
Spread across two bright and airy floors above the Chamber’s own offices, The Chamber Rooms consist of these three newly refurbished rooms:
• a quiet open-plan space with individual desks
• a social café area with large round tables and good coffee to fuel discussion for those who enjoy a more interactive work environment, and
• a boardroom-style meeting room that can be hired by the hour or by the day
There are a range of subscription options covering as much or as little use as needed and offering business people in these challenging economic times a flexible way to benefit from the Chamber’s supportive business community. There’s access to WiFi, free tea and coffee, printing and photocopying facilities and other creative, innovative and experienced Chamber members.
Being just a short walk from Hove station and a five-minute bus trip from central Brighton, the Chamber Rooms are ideal for anyone wanting to get away from their busy offices for a change of meeting venue, someone working from home who feels isolated and needs a more lively niche now and then, or a for start-up company wanting to minimise initial costs and grow exponentially. An added benefit is the venue is conveniently surrounded by a choice of the city’s top coffee shops and cafés.
Sarah Springford, the Chamber’s director, says: “This is just another way in which the Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce is leading the way in the business community. We recognised an opportunity to use these facilities to enhance the way in which our members can work, offer real affordable alternatives in rented space and create a calm, business-focused environment for people to work on their own or collaboratively as they wish.
At the end of our first week we’ve already had 10 businesses take up space and using the Chamber Rooms with plenty more showing interest. It’s great news!”
The first person to book in to the Chamber Rooms was Helen Keevy of Core Copywriting:"The Chamber Rooms has made a good change to working from home. The space itself is lovely and light and it's been great meeting new people and hearing a bit about what they're working on. Having other productive people around is a great motivator too, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it evolves as a communal resource for local businesses."
Starting at as little as £12 per day for less than five days use per month with the highest rate being £260 per month for unlimited usage, rates are really competitive.
