Chamber of Commerce hosts free Workshop for Brighton’s hospitality sector

If you own or run a restaurant, cafe, bar or hotel, you can now sign up for a free workshop from Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce’s Ride the Wave series.

The ‘Hospitality Marketing Out of the Box’ workshop, which is hosted by the chamber in partnership with Brighton & Hove Food Festival, will focus on developing a “creative, personality-based marketing” system, where participants will discover methods of communication that reflect their passion for their business, as well as the skills to attract the right customers who will support their business in the long term.

The workshop will include four speakers each giving a 10-minute presentation on marketing and communication.  The four speakers and their presentations are;

Paula Seager, MD, Natural PR

Olivia Reid, Events & Marketing Manager, Terre á Terre
Communicating with your Customers

Andrew Kay, Creative Director, Latest magazine and Latest.tv

Karl Jones, Proprietor, Moshi Moshi
Using Events to promote your business

Each presentation will be followed by a breakout session where there’ll be the opportunity to discuss business with marketing, PR, and media professionals.

At the end of the workshop, complimentary drinks and canapés will be served, giving participants the opportunity to network will fellow attendees.

It will take place on Tuesday 11th September 2012, 3-5pm, at Pub Du Vin, Ship Street, Brighton.

"Brighton & Hove has a thriving independent hospitality sector made up of celebrated restaurants, quirky cafés, atmospheric pubs and stylish design bars. With some of the UK's best local produce on our doorstep, and a world of cuisines to enjoy, our city is quite rightly recognised as a foodie destination. Supporting this unique mix through events such as Ride the Wave and groups such as the food festival's Brighton Restaurant Association are critical to the survival of the sector in challenging economic times. Independent businesses can create an edge by sharing best practice, joint marketing, collectively nurturing new talent into the industry, and group buying."
Nick Mosley,
director, Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival

The Ride the Wave 2012 series is funded and led by Brighton & Hove City Council, delivered by Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce, and backed by Business Support Partnership.

Workshops are free, but places are limited. Anyone interested should book soon to avoid disappointment.
