Chamber balcony gets a makeover!
The Chamber office balcony has had a fantastic makeover thanks to garden designer and Chamber member Dawn Banks.
Dawn specialises in garden design of small spaces and has worked with numerous businesses in the City creating something unique in the space they have available.
She has transformed our balcony into a lovely haven of potted plants and pink grass. Dawn’s careful thought behind opting for coastal plants which are linked together by multiple metal ribbons to represent the Chamber’s linking of business in the city is a really nice touch.
Dawn says: “The Chamber balcony installation was inspired by the location and infrastructure of Brighton’s unique and innovative businesses. The natural coastal grasses are supported by this unique bright pink grass, which I feel shouts about alternative approaches. I wanted to create a sculpture that defined the Chamber and its core principles of linking local businesses together, which lead me to design this bespoke steel ribbon curling and wrapping around the plants.
“My approach to designing small spaces comes from my belief that if designed, the outlook from a window can be relaxing, pleasing or inspiring, however small. This is about focusing on the wellbeing of staff and their positive approach to a working day.”
We’re really enjoying our new view and will be showing off our balcony to all who visit!
