Care Funding Solicitor joins Martin Searle Solicitors’ Community Care Law team
Colin McCloskey, a specialist in community care law, has joined the community care law team at Martin Searle Solicitors in Brighton. He is also an experienced housing law specialist and sits in the county court as a deputy district judge.
As a solicitor specialising in elderly client work, Colin will be helping individuals and their families with issues to do with care funding and planning for future care needs. He will support other solicitors, charities and voluntary organisations with complex casework, particularly NHS Continuing Healthcare funding appeals. In addition, Colin will be advising clients of all ages with legal issues relating to disabilities or caring responsibilities. Colin will also advise on and conduct litigation in housing law.
Colin has worked in community care law, housing law and mental health for more than 20 years. Before joining Martin Searle Solicitors he worked in Croydon with the charity Asylum Support Appeals Project where he represented asylum seekers in tribunal appeals. He also advised and trained community groups in asylum support and community care law and trained lawyers in housing law.
Head of the community care law department Cate Searle says: “As a specialist department we’ve been looking for some time to expand our team with someone with the right skills, knowledge and experience. I know Colin will prove a great asset to the work we do helping individuals and their families struggling to access the care funding and support they are entitled to.”
