Can your business support the Travel Buddy Project?

Grace Eyre offers support for adults with learning difficulties and has helped thousands of service users over many years live fulfilling lives. Recently, the Travel Buddy Project has been re-launched for its final year and helps provide a travel training service helping to improve confidence and give more freedom to adults with learning disabilities.

We’re hoping to sign up 30 new users to benefit from this programme over the next year so we need your help to spread the word.

The Travel Buddy Project helps people with a learning disability stay safe when they're out and about, on public transport or on foot. The Project runs travel training courses and provides volunteer travel buddies to support people to learn new journeys.

People with a learning disability can find it difficult to travel around their communities and are often reliant on using minibuses or getting lifts. This can significantly restrict their life choices. The Travel Buddy Project aims to break down these barriers, thereby increasing opportunities and independence.

Is Travel Buddy the opportunity for you or someone you know?
Travel Buddy is a fantastic travel training programme for adults with learning disabilities in Brighton and Hove. The scheme helps users to gain the skills and confidence to travel safely by bus in the city with a potential for them to become buddies themselves in the future. Travel Buddy aims to match the wonderful people who access the services of the Grace Eyre with equally wonderful volunteers and promote independence for people with learning disabilities.

Whether it be to “Catch the bus, meet friends, be safe or get to where you want to go” users will feel confident and safe after Travel Buddy.
