Business travel plans - become more sustainable and encourage your staff to be more active
Brighton Chamber intern Yasmine Jardine writes about Brighton & Hove City Council's plan to change the way employees travel to work, in a bid to make companies more substainable.
Do you want to help your employees to start the day with more energy ensuring a productive day’s work in the office? Brighton & Hove City Council are working hard to provide you and your employees with the tools, travel information and support you need to change the way that your staff travel to work by implementing a Travel Plan.
A Travel Plan sets out a strategy that helps your company become more sustainable and supports and encourages staff to take up active travel (i.e. walking and cycling), use public transport or lift share when possible.
Not only is walking or cycling to work an excellent way of scheduling in some well needed you time, it also reduces unnecessary travel time, improves retention, is fantastic for the environment, and saves you money you’d spend on petrol and parking.
Brighton & Hove City Council also offers subsidised cycle and maintenance training courses for staff and can provide group training. If you’d like to encourage your staff to cycle more, contact BHCC directly to find out more.
