Business Continuity Planning Workshop
12 Jan 2011; 3pm – 5.30pm (BCP Offices, Brighton Junction, Brighton)

Developing new contracts through risk management and business continuity planning
This workshop, for both private and voluntary sectors, will support meeting pre-qualifying questionnaires and contract compliance requirements, as well as being good management for your organisation. This will enable you to engage in developing your organisation across new markets.
Public sector procurers are increasingly asking suppliers to show their plans on mitigating and preventing risks. This workshop will share how this can be done without costs, help you win public sector contracts, improve operational resilience, comply with regulations and safeguard Directors/Trustees liabilities.
In a two hour workshop with networking you will be shown how risk management tools can enhance your business continuity planning and win you new opportunities and business.
The workshop will be facilitated by Clive Bonny.

Social Enterprise: An Introductory Workshop

Social Enterprise – is it right for you?
An inspiring afternoon to find out about social enterprise and whether it is right for you or your organisation. The event will include an introductory workshop on the concept of social enterprise, case studies, discussions of its potential for you or your organisation and the opportunity for Q&A.
If you aren't sure what social enterprise is all about, or if it's right for you, things will be clearer by the end of the afternoon.

Make it Happen! – Social Enterprise

The Business Community Partnership offers support to social enterprises of all shapes and sizes.
The monthly Make it Happen! surgeries can help individual organisation to clarify your ideas, maximise trading/income potential, understand legal structures and governance, evaluate feasibility and address sustainability issues.
For those in the very early stages, nurturing an idea or indeed up and running as a social enterprise a Make it Happen! surgery offers the chance to talk through ideas, issues and opportunities with a panel of social enterprise experts and get some practical advice on next steps and how to move things forward.

Employment Law Workshop: Pregnancy & Maternity
All you need to know about managing pregnancy and maternity leave in the workplace.

This employment law workshop is for all employers, HR managers and staff responsible for personnel and human resources. It will provide a legal framework on all you need to know about dealing with pregnancy and maternity leave in the workplace.
This workshop will explore all relevant issues to include;
• health and safety whilst pregnant and breastfeeding
• maternity pay and leave
• rights to return to the same job
• rights to flexible working
• protection against dismissal, detriment and discrimination
Open to all Community & voluntary, social enterprise and private sector organisations. This workshop will give participants the opportunity to update their current knowledge and to promote best practice.
