Brighton Chamber unveils Centenary Summit date
The city’s chamber of commerce has announced exciting plans for an event to celebrate 100 years since its inauguration. The Centenary Summit will be held on Friday 19th April at the Clarendon Centre in New England Street, Brighton, with a theme of “Doing business in a city designed for pleasure”.
Looking at the special opportunities and challenges for anyone wanting to do business in a city built for fun, this major business event will encompass a full day of speakers, interactive workshops, discussion, networking as well as opportunities to do something slightly different, like singing in a choir in what’s being billed as a “Pleasure Hour”.
Delegates can expect to be challenged, to learn, to meet new people and even have fun and be entertained.
Brighton’s own international best-selling crime thriller novelist, Peter James, will be among those topping the bill. The chamber hopes to attract as many local business people as possible and tickets are already being snapped up.
The programme includes:
- Welcome and keynote session with Peter James and others
- Inspirational speakers and panel discussions to choose from
- The Pleasure Hour – where delegates have a choice: join a choir, a walking tour around the Lanes, watch a film or more
- A networking lunch
- An ‘UnConference’ session - offering attendees a chance to run a workshop, lead a debate or speak at a session on a topic of their choice.
- Finale cabaret from Brighton Fringe
