Become a Volunteer Business Adviser in Brighton and Hove
Bring your knowledge, passion and experience to inspire the next generation of young people to discover their potential and make a lasting impression by being a business advisor for Young Enterprise.
Becoming a Young Enterprise volunteer will challenge you – but the excitement and satisfaction of mentoring, of transforming attitudes and helping young people open their eyes to the world of enterprise keeps many of our volunteers coming back year after year.
Business Advisors work with a group of students (aged 15 – 19) once a week, helping them to set up and run their own business. Over the course of one year the students raise share capital, market and finance a product or service of their own choice.
Young Enterprise are looking for people like you to spend approximately an hour each week visiting a local group of young people who are setting up their own business through the Young Enterprise Company Programme. Full training and support will be provided.
The experience is very rewarding and allows you to develop yourself as well as help support the local community.
YE volunteers come from all walks of life. Their volunteers have experience which cuts across every sector of the economy. They are in employment, entrepreneurs, stay at home parents, on a career break or retired. They have one thing in common: a desire to pass on their skills and experience of business to inspire the next generation.
Enthusiasm and an interest in encouraging young people to achieve their potential are vital as is flexibility, patience, punctuality and communication.
