5 top tips for greening your business
The Centre Manager of Brighthelm, Rob Parker, gives his top tips for greening your business following the Ride the Wave workshop 'Workplace sustainability - reducing costs and winning customers' on Wednesday 21st January with The Sustainable Business Partnership CIC.
- Check maintenance is being carried out as it should on things like boilers and ventilation systems and switch to a greener supplier if you can
- Tackle the big ‘greening’ projects only when your workplace is operating as it should, you need to dedicate the time these projects deserve in order to get them right
- Have a definite idea of what you want to achieve and make sure the decisions you’re making are helping realise that idea
- Get the ‘quick wins’ done when you have the chance; things such as light bulbs, radiator valves, draft proofing, perhaps attach movement sensors to the lights in communal areas
- Support like-minded organisations by offering discount to local business, use suppliers with strong sustainability credentials, minimise the number of suppliers you use and deliveries you receive to reduce transport emissions
The workshop is being repeated on Tuesday 3rd March. For more information and to book please click here.
